Still on a sabbatical but I still look over the news items published here and elsewhere. Here in the UK the kind of rubbish rhetoric coming from the Political Class and the British Government, makes me wonder whether anyone will bother to turn out and vote in the 2015 UK General Election. I have come to the conclusion that those who run our Government are so out of touch, I am thankful I am not wealthy and not in a position to educate any child based on the end result of what I see in our Prime Minister, his Deputy and other overly wealthy lackeys that make up the British Government. All they prove to me is that a good education doesn’t necessary come from the elitist fee-paying schools, if common sense is the last thing taught. I for once actually agree with Russell Brand’s assessment of David Cameron. Never a truer word was ever said. I have a difficult time believing our Prime Minister watches ‘Breaking Bad’ let alone understands the predicament and sacrifices Walter White has had to make when he is diagnosed with lung cancer and cannot afford the medical bills. This is the same David Cameron who has created an era of austerity, where people cannot afford to heat their homes or put food on the table. The fact he supposedly understands a fictional character’s plight when he apparently hasn’t an inkling for the sacrifices and difficulties real people in his own Country are going through would be laughable if it wasn’t so pathetic.
News of the natural disasters in The Philippines and the American Midwest, should once again be a wake up call that the real war is with Nature in the 21st Century and not the Islamist ideology currently tearing the Middle East apart, especially in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Egypt. Wars based on religious belief and hatred of one man’s religion against another’s has no place nor basis in the 21st Century. Despite the destruction of World Heritage sites by Islamists (wanton and unwarranted in my view,) pale into insignificance when faced with the full fury of Nature, as witness in the US Midwest and Philippines this week. Time for the religious relics of Islamism and other religious factions to wake up and realise we are living in a new age and not the dark age and just get with the programme. A New Age means openness and a willingness to adopt new ideas, new ways of doing things and having an understanding for the beliefs of others. The Dark Ages have no place in the 21st Century. That said:-
